Australian and New Zealand Esperanto Dictionary

Australian and New Zealand Esperanto Dictionary A new dictionary was launched on 29 July 2000 with translations for over 2000 different items into Esperanto from New Zealand/Australian English. The dictionary includes words such as "ANZAC", "bush", "mate", "possum" and "tramping" - words which are commonly used "down under" but which are generally not found in many English dictionaries produced in Northern Hemisphere countries.

Compiled by Brian Fox of New Zealand and Ralph Harry of Australia, the new dictionary follows on from several previous editions aimed at providing translations for the words we commonly use in New Zealand and Australia.

It's sure to be a useful tool for translators or when helping to explain common aspects of our everyday life to overseas friends or visitors.

The dictionary can be ordered from the New Zealand Esperanto Association for the price of NZ$10.80 (including postage). See our NZEA page for contact details.

The Internet version of the Australian and New Zealand Esperanto Dictionary is available on the NZEA site. It has been updated since the book version was published.
